In a previous life, I sat in the editor’s chair at some pretty cool visual effects and animation companies. The last one of these was The Orphanage, one of the first companies to embrace off-the-shelf software for creating studio level visual effects.

Prior to The Orphanage, I was the editor for “Hubert’s Brain”, a 17 minute CG short made by Wild Brain Animation. Hubert’s Brain was directed by Phil Robinson and Gordon Clark and featured voice talent from Bruce Campbell, Peter Falk, and Jonathan Harris. The film won an Annie that year for “Best Achievement in an Animated Short Subject” and was shortlisted for the Oscar for Best Animated Short. Wild Brain was also the studio responsible for creating “Yo Gabba Gabba”, ‘Higglytown Heroes”, “Bubble Guppies”, and more before being sold and spun off as Wild Brain Studio.

Before Wild Brain, I was at ILM where I worked on some cool stuff and some not so cool stuff.

And to go back even further, my first gig was an assistant editor for “Bill Nye the Science Guy”. You can even see me trying to rock hard in a video for Spiders. To this day, I get $.02 residual checks mailed to me every year.
